Mescaline Capsules
Mescaline Fumarate · Oral Capsules
Product Overview
ÆTHER Mescaline Capsules contain precisely measured mescaline fumarate in pharmaceutical-grade vegetable capsules. Mescaline fumarate provides a clean, known-dose alternative to raw plant preparations, eliminating the nausea-inducing cactus matter while preserving the full phenethylamine experience. Intended for intentional use in a safe and supportive environment by adults 21 years of age or older only. Mescaline produces one of the longest-duration psychedelic experiences known — plan accordingly.

Potential Benefits
A major 2021 survey study published in ACS Pharmacology & Translational Science surveyed over 400 mescaline users and found significant associations with improvements in depression, anxiety, and PTSD — with outcomes comparable to psilocybin. Ceremonial contexts and guidance were associated with the most positive results. A 2022 study in the Journal of Psychopharmacology found increased psychological flexibility, creativity, and nature relatedness following mescaline use. Mescaline is distinct among classic psychedelics for the lucidity and warmth of its cognitive character — users frequently describe it as producing the clearest and most loving thinking of their lives.
Spiritual Significance
Mescaline's human history is among the longest of any psychedelic compound. Dried peyote buttons found at ritual burial sites in the Rio Grande area have been dated to 3700 BCE. Archaeobotanical evidence from Peru's Chavin culture documents San Pedro cactus use from approximately 1200 BCE — with stone carvings at the Chavin de Huántar temple depicting the cactus alongside shamanic imagery. The Huichol people of the Sierra Madre Occidental conducted annual peyote pilgrimages to the sacred desert of Wirikuta — walking hundreds of miles to harvest the cactus in its native habitat, a practice still maintained today. The peyote ceremony of the Native American Church, with over 250,000 members across dozens of tribal nations, remains one of the most cohesive living traditions of ceremonial psychedelic use in the world.
Mescaline's entry into Western consciousness came through Aldous Huxley's 1953 experiment — documented in The Doors of Perception — in which he described ordinary reality as being transfigured by a numinous significance that ordinary language could barely contain. Huxley proposed that the brain functions as a "reducing valve," normally filtering out the vast majority of available reality, and that mescaline opens that valve. The very word "psychedelic" was coined in the correspondence between Huxley and his psychiatrist Humphry Osmond — a word deliberately chosen to describe the mind-revealing quality of the mescaline experience, replacing the inadequate terms that preceded it.
What indigenous and Western experiencers alike consistently describe is a world made luminous — the ordinary restored to its underlying beauty. This quality of re-enchantment — the sense that what was always there has simply been seen for the first time — is mescaline's most distinctive spiritual gift. It does not dissolve the self in the way that 5-MeO-DMT or high-dose psilocybin do. It opens the self to the world, restoring a sense of belonging, beauty, and connection that ordinary consciousness tends to screen out.
Dosing Guide
Doses are given in milligrams of mescaline fumarate. Fumarate is a heavier salt than mescaline HCl — if cross-referencing HCl-based dosing guides, note that mescaline fumarate doses run approximately 10–15% higher by weight for equivalent effect (e.g. 100 mg fumarate ≈ 87 mg HCl). Mescaline's very slow onset (up to 2 hours) leads many people to redose prematurely. Never redose within 2 hours of initial ingestion.
Mescaline fumarate's onset can take up to 2 hours — do not redose before this window has passed. The nausea typical of raw cactus preparations is significantly reduced with fumarate capsules, but some come-up discomfort is normal and typically resolves within 1–2 hours of onset.
Set & Setting
Mescaline's long duration — 10 to 12 hours — makes planning essential. Unlike shorter-acting psychedelics, mescaline leaves little margin for a change of environment once underway. Commit to your setting before ingesting. Natural environments are particularly rewarding: mescaline's color enhancement and nature-connectivity make the outdoors an ideal context when safety allows.
- Reserve a full day with no obligations — 10–12 hours minimum
- Allow the following morning for integration and rest
- Arrange your setting in advance — do not plan to move locations mid-experience
- Inform one trusted person of your plans even if they are not present
- Have food and water available for after the peak
- Nature settings — parks, gardens, forests — are ideal at moderate doses
- If indoors, choose a comfortable and familiar space
- Have a safe indoor option available in case weather or circumstance changes
- Avoid crowded or socially demanding environments
- Prepare music, art materials, or other tools for engagement
- A trusted, sober companion is strongly recommended at 200 mg and above
- Companion should be available for the full duration
- The come-up nausea phase may benefit from supportive presence
- Mescaline typically preserves social engagement — sharing the experience is often meaningful
- Do not leave the person alone if they become distressed
- Fast for 4–6 hours before ingestion to reduce nausea
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior
- Approach with clear intention — mescaline rewards purposeful use
- Light hydration throughout — avoid excessive water intake
- Have integration plans in place — journaling, art, or conversation

Warnings
- For adults 21 years of age or older only. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
- Do not use if you are alone without a trusted, sober companion, especially at doses above 200 mg.
- Do not use if you have consumed alcohol or other drugs prior to use.
- Do not use if pregnant or nursing.
- Do not use if you have cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or heart arrhythmia. Mescaline produces significant increases in heart rate and blood pressure, particularly during the come-up phase.
- Do not use if you have a personal or family history of psychosis, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder.
- Do not drive, swim, or operate machinery until fully returned to baseline — a minimum of 14 hours after ingestion.
- Mescaline's long duration means you will be under the influence for most of a full day. Do not begin without having committed the entire day.
- Do not combine with MAOIs. Dangerous cardiovascular and serotonergic effects may result. This is an absolute contraindication.
- Do not combine with lithium. Elevated seizure risk has been associated with lithium and psychedelic combinations.
- Do not combine with stimulants including amphetamines, cocaine, or MDMA. The combination significantly increases cardiovascular stress.
- SSRIs may blunt effects. Do not abruptly discontinue prescribed medications — consult your physician.
- Cannabis can intensify the experience and increase anxiety during the come-up — avoid before and during.
- Nausea and vomiting during the come-up (1–2 hours post-ingestion)
- Elevated heart rate and blood pressure
- Sweating, muscle tension, and physical discomfort during onset
- Anxiety or panic, particularly during the come-up
- Overwhelming visual intensity at higher doses
- Challenging psychological content
- Exhaustion from the full-day duration
- Difficulty sleeping the same night
